Shruti Savaliya grew up in Junagadh in a family dependent on farming. While her parents always supported her education, her career options after completing her 10th grade were unclear. Bhavisha Panchal is a computer engineering student from Surat. Her parents run home tuition classes, and her educational journey has been focused and self-driven. Khushmeet Patil, a third-year Information Technology student at Madhuben and Bhanubhai Institute of Technology, Anand, represents a story of grit, recovery, and purposeful learning. Originally from Bhusawal in Maharashtra, Khushmeet’s fascination with machines began at an early age. However, life threw an unexpected curveball during his 11th standard when a severe accident left him hospitalized for six months and erased two years of his memory.

The turning point in Khushmeet’s journey came through the Code Unnati Program in 2024–25. Through hands-on modules in AI, ML, Deep Learning, IoT, SAP, Cybersecurity, and more, the program demystified technologies he once thought were beyond his reach. His Capstone project, CodeTalk, aimed at simplifying coding for students and junior developers, was shortlisted in the final round of the Code Unnati Innovation Marathon.

Post Code Unnati, Khushmeet’s career graph took a decisive leap. He completed a Generative AI internship at One Million One Billion and currently interns at Zidio Development, earning a monthly stipend of ₹12,000. He also launched his own tech startup offering IT and IoT services.

Kirtan Patel was born in Talavchokra village in Chikhli Taluka, Navsari District, Gujarat. He studied in a Gujarati-medium school in Chikhli till 12th standard. His father is a welding worker and his mother is a homemaker. Since childhood, Kirtan was very interested in computers. He is currently in the final year of Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering at Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Bakrol.

Coming from a Gujarati-medium background, he found it very difficult to understand lectures, technical terms, and textbooks in English during the first few months of engineering. Another major challenge was financial instability. Kirtan’s annual expenses were around ₹1–1.25 lakhs per year, out of which ₹30,000 fee was supported through the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS).

Nikhil, a final-year engineering student from Rumkitalav, a small village in Surat district, has defied considerable odds to pursue his dream of a career in technology. Aashi is currently working with Maruti Suzuki as a data analyst and has a strong background in programming languages like C, C++ and Python.

She says, “I have an interest in SQL structure schedule languages, so I explore things further. I have learned Django for the back-end framework and front-end languages like HTML, CSS, javascripts.

In college, we do not have a hands-on training as well as they do not teach us in depth. I have learned C++ and C in colleges, but they do not give us hands on training but in this course, we were taught step by step. Like for example during my interview, I was asked what the outliers is. I just remember what was taught to us about the outliers in machine learning. It just clicked me, and I responded to them.”

In Code Unnati Program we had hands on practical session, as a Diploma student we don’t have such kind of practical sessions it’s mostly theory lectures. We liked the practical sessions a lot and I found the k-nearest neighbours (KNN) algorithm sessions to be the best.

We made a project prototype of “Payment system Using Face Detection”. We stored people face data in our system and based on that we deducted their payment in the public transport and various other places. We presented it during the final showcase of the Innovation Marathon.

Pitla Ashwini, a final-year Data Science student at Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, hails from Wadi, a small village in Telangana’s Kamareddy district. Born into a humble farming family, Ashwini’s dreams of becoming an engineer often felt far removed from her reality. The first girl in her extended family to pursue engineering, Ashwini’s journey was marked by both financial constraints and social expectations.

Her transformation began with the Code Unnati Program 2024–25. The program exposed Ashwini to cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and SAP ABAP. One of her proudest accomplishments was developing a Blood Bank Management System.

Today, Ashwini holds two job offers—one from Infosys as a System Engineer and another from Savanti’s Technologies as a Trainee Analyst, both with packages of ₹3.6 LPA.

Preethi Yedla, a Computer Science and Engineering student at Jyotishmati Institute of Technology and Science, Karimnagar, exemplifies how resilience and the right support can transform potential into achievement. Coming from a humble agricultural family with an annual income of less than ₹2 lakhs, Preethi’s path to engineering was paved with both aspiration and adversity.

Through intensive hands-on training in AI, ML, IoT, Deep Learning, SAP, and Computer Vision, Preethi gained the confidence to tackle complex programming challenges independently. Her capstone project, a Sign Language Translator, reflected her technical growth and desire to create inclusive, impactful solutions.

Talla Bhavya, a final-year B.Tech Electronics student at Samskruthi College of Engineering and Technology, hails from Bhongir, a small village in the Yadgiri district. Bhavya was the first girl in her extended family to pursue engineering.

The turning point came with the Code Unnati Program 2024–25. Through hands-on training in IoT, Machine Learning, SAP ABAP, and Deep Learning, Bhavya transformed from a hesitant student to a confident innovator. A highlight of her learning journey was building a Railway Track Detection System using Raspberry Pi.

Bhavya received three job offers, ultimately accepting a 6 LPA position at DSK Technologies in web development and testing. “Your support helped a girl from a remote village step into the future. I now know who I am—and I promise to make it count.”
